During
today’s lesson we learned how to play a piece of Gamelan. Gamelan is a
traditional community activity from Indonesia that they used to play a long time ago, and probably still do.
We learned to play Lancaran Cobowo as a
class. We started by learning how to do the Peking part then the Saron, Kethuk and Kenong, till we got the all correct.
We noticed that the parts had varying levels of
difficulty because they weren't all the same beat/tone, they all had different timings.
